Miles Under The Skin b/w Frostman (Long Version) 7"

This is HJRR 12, the last of the Coast To Coast/Gargoyle 7" singles. I'm really gonna miss getting a 7" in the mail once a month (twss). Bob Co. is working on a cool box to house all 12 singles and hopefully that's coming soon. I also hope that Bob decides to do this again, and with both sides being new or unreleased songs. Now that would be the bee's knees.

Frostman (Long Version) is great.

Universal Truths and Cycles

Filling in some gaps. Although I've had the UTAC CD since the year it came out, I never got the vinyl. It's always been at the top of my list of Needs, since it's one of my favorite albums. I checked out the Matador online store and was happy to see they still had this and for just $11! It's actually the only GBV/Bob vinyl you can still get through the site. I came home from work today to a sweet surprise. It's a 150 gram platter and it really sounds beautiful! Everywhere With Helicopter kicks off side 2 very fucking nicely.

edit: Notice the color inside the gatefold is the exact same color of the wall behind it.

Robert Pollard is Off to Business

So, I've had this for about a week and I've listened to it many, many times. God damn this is a good one! You can never quite know what to expect from a new Bob record, and the moments when songs click are the most rewarding. No one structures a song like Bob does, and once you wrap your mind around that, the songs become clearer. The lyrics on this one are fucking awesome. I think Bob's true genius is the way he sings these crazy poems... the melodies. And I think I remember reading that he finds it easier to write a song off of the words than add words to music, which blows my mind.

This album is fucking amazing!
